Hi Everyone! It’s Susan here with you today sharing the Random Acts of Kindness prompt and that is Friendship. I’ve had the Bundled Buddies stamp set from Penny Black for quite some time and absolutely love it but never use it. I love the image and I especially love the sentiment and thought it was perfect for today.
I started with a piece of white card stock cut to 4 x 5 1/4″ knowing I was going to cut it down with a Lawn Fawn Stitched Stackable Rectangle Die after I was done. I stamped the image with Versafine Nocturne ink then covered it with a mask. I cut a piece of masking paper to put on the bottom of the panel for snow.
I blended Peacock Feathers, Prize Ribbon and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide inks onto the panel for sky. Next I sprayed on some water and dried it with a towel to get the look of falling snow. I also added some of the ink from a Posco white pen to a block and with a tiny paint brush splattered some more snow onto the panel.
I removed the masks then set about coloring the image with my copics. I’ve listed the colors below for you. I start with the lighter shade and color all or most of the area that I’m coloring. You can see that the face, bird, bag and boots aren’t completely covered. I left some blank spaces for highlights instead of having to go back in with a white marker and add them in.
Next I used the White Posca Paint Pen to add more snow. Adding all the dots on top of the image makes it look like the snow is falling all around it. I cut the panel down with a stitched rectangle die then added the heat embossed sentiment. I used some craft foam to add it to another piece of white card stock that is 4 x 5 1/4″ then added that directly to a card base.
