Hello all, Kia back today to share this card as part of our Random Act of Cardness challenge. This is Day 29, which is Masking.
This is a different kind of masking, using Masking Magic from Gina K Designs instead of masking over a whole image, the is the design of the image, which is a die. I was inspired for this card by a card I saw that Jennifer McGuire had done.
To start my card I die cut the Flowers Whisper die using my Gemini Jr and Gina K Design Masking Magic. I peeled the backing off the masking piece and affixed the tape to my card panel. I placed another piece of cardstock of the panel and rubbed over it with my bone folder flat, rubbing up and down the cardstock to ensure it was securely down.
I then proceeded to sponge on my colours, first using Spun Sugar on the top, then flipping the card and using Mahogany on the bottom. I then added the Abandoned Coral in the centre, and blended with the first colours put down, being the Spun Sugar over the Abandoned Coral, and the Abandoned Coral over the Mahogany.
Next, I put down some of the pigment ink to my craft mat to then add to the stencil. This way I am not contaminating my ink pad. I then picked up the ink from my craft mat and applied it to the stencil.
To finish up I added Nuvo Jewel Drops in Rosewater around the card. I decided against a sentiment as I wanted the flower to be front and centre with no distraction.
