Celebrate

Hello all, Kia back with you today for Day 28 of our Random Act of Cardness series. Today’s card prompt is Celebrate, and that is the continued Celebration of Scrap’n Stamp’s Birthday.

For my card today I am using the Hampton Art Cupcakes, and have used Copic markers to colour, along with some distress oxide inks and a stencil.

To begin I first die cut the Paper Rose, which cuts into two pieces. The frame and the centre portion, which I am using for the stamped cupcakes.

To do the stamping I first stamped a couple of pieces using Gina K Design Magic Masking Sheets and Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I then stamped the three cupcakes across the bottom of my card panel.

Using the masking paper I covered the two cupcakes on the right and stamped the background cupcake on the right. I then changed the masking paper to the left cupcake bottom row and stamped the cupcake in the background left side.

I then began my colouring using Copic markers. To colour the cupcake bottoms I went from darkest to lightest colours.

On the bottom row from left to right I used: Y21, Y35, Y38, YR07; then BV01, BV02 and BV04; R20, R22, R24 and R29; and in the rear left to right B60, B32, B34, B37 and BG10 and BG10, BG13, BG49.

Moving on to the stencil work I covered the the cupcakes with the masking papers and stenciled the upper background using Tumbled Glass oxide ink. For the lower portion I used the Tumbled Glass along with Broken China.

To finish up my card attached the frame and panel to the card base using Nuvo adhesive. I then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Fantasia, attaching the piece to the card using foam tape.

I enjoyed making this card, and I hope you have enjoyed it as well. Following are Affiliate links to the store for the products I used, at no extra cost to you.

Somebunny I Love

Inspiration time for today’s Random Acts of Cardness prompt: STENCILS!

This little guy is probably my very favourite bunny stamp – I have a little figurine that looks just like him that my grandmother gave me when I was very young. <3  To start the card, I blended shaded lilac, blueprint sketch and chipped sapphire distress inks using a My Favorite Things watercolour wash stencil. With the stencil still in place, I applied a layer of Nebula glitter gel over the inks. While that dried, I stamped and coloured my bunny with Copics before die cutting him and the crescent moon. I also stamped and embossed the sentiment, and coloured the strip with the leftover ink on my purple brush. Once the background (finally) dried, it was an easy task to put everything together.

I hope you’ll consider joining February’s challenge! Have a great week.

Cuppa

Hello all, Kia back with you today to share this card for the Random Act of Cardness challenge. Today’s prompt word is CHILL, and that it is in my neck of the woods.

For my card today I am using Penny Black’s Cozy Cuppa. I decided on a one layer card and used Copic markers to colour.

First up, I decided I wanted the snowflakes to be embossed, so used the one inch cube embossing ink from Tim Holtz to ink only the snowflakes then adding Nuvo Snow Crystal embossing powder.

Once the embossing was done I taped my card down on my work surface straight away. This reduces the warping on the card from the heat embossing. By the time I was finished colouring the card was back to normal.

Using my Copic markers I began to colour. Following are the colours I used.

Her coat including the scarf is YR14, YR18, YR68, YR07, E97 and E37;
Hat colours are YR18, YR07, YR14
Gloves E23, E17, E37
Skin E31, E41, E93;  Lips RV32
Bird is YR21, YR23, YR02
Table E23, E17, E37
Skates C3, Shadow BG11, Steam C3, E31
I finished up my card by stamping the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Pinecone.
This card also goes with our blog hop theme Tea for Two. Just my cup of tea, me and my bird!
Thanks so much for your visit today. Following are Affiliate links for the products I used for this card at no extra expense to you.
