Somebunny I Love

Inspiration time for today’s Random Acts of Cardness prompt: STENCILS!

This little guy is probably my very favourite bunny stamp – I have a little figurine that looks just like him that my grandmother gave me when I was very young. <3  To start the card, I blended shaded lilac, blueprint sketch and chipped sapphire distress inks using a My Favorite Things watercolour wash stencil. With the stencil still in place, I applied a layer of Nebula glitter gel over the inks. While that dried, I stamped and coloured my bunny with Copics before die cutting him and the crescent moon. I also stamped and embossed the sentiment, and coloured the strip with the leftover ink on my purple brush. Once the background (finally) dried, it was an easy task to put everything together.

I hope you’ll consider joining February’s challenge! Have a great week.

Cuppa

Hello all, Kia back with you today to share this card for the Random Act of Cardness challenge. Today’s prompt word is CHILL, and that it is in my neck of the woods.

For my card today I am using Penny Black’s Cozy Cuppa. I decided on a one layer card and used Copic markers to colour.

First up, I decided I wanted the snowflakes to be embossed, so used the one inch cube embossing ink from Tim Holtz to ink only the snowflakes then adding Nuvo Snow Crystal embossing powder.

Once the embossing was done I taped my card down on my work surface straight away. This reduces the warping on the card from the heat embossing. By the time I was finished colouring the card was back to normal.

Using my Copic markers I began to colour. Following are the colours I used.

Her coat including the scarf is YR14, YR18, YR68, YR07, E97 and E37;
Hat colours are YR18, YR07, YR14
Gloves E23, E17, E37
Skin E31, E41, E93;  Lips RV32
Bird is YR21, YR23, YR02
Table E23, E17, E37
Skates C3, Shadow BG11, Steam C3, E31
I finished up my card by stamping the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Pinecone.
This card also goes with our blog hop theme Tea for Two. Just my cup of tea, me and my bird!

Jingle all the Way

Kia here with you today to share this fun fold card for the Random Act of Cardness day 20, which is Surprise Fold. This fold is called Triple Easel Panel, and was great fun to do.

Most years My Favorite Things brings back Birdie Brown’s set Jingle all the Way, which is what I decided to use for this card. I picked a few of the images to include on my card, with my favourite Santa image. I also included the Deer, and the Christmas Tree along with presents. The little green circles you can see are the stops for the fold, which are attached to the inside of the card using foam squares. When adding the images in place I arranged it so the deer’s hoof and Santa’s foot and the tree rested on or near the circle.

I coloured the images using Copic markers. The sentiments were stamped using VersaFine Clair ink in Tulip Red. The designer paper came from my stash. For the Star on the Tree and Santa’s belt buckle, along with a couple of the bows on the presents I used Jelly Roll pen in Gold,

On Santa’s hat I added glitter gloss where the fur would be.

This is the card with the folds down and ready to be mailed in an A2 envelope. When making this card that is something to keep in mind, you do not want anything hanging over the edges of the card. Also, make note the card is not your standard size, it is 5.25 h x 4.25 w., so a quarter of an inch shorter than normal.

I hope you have enjoyed today’s card and thank you for visiting.
