Today’s Theme is Flowers

Happy Friday, and Day 12 of the Scrap ‘N Stamp Challenge! Today’s theme is Flowers. If you’re like me, you probably have dozens of stamps to choose from, for this theme. I recently received a new Taylored Expression Doodle Flowers Background stamp. So that’s what I’m sharing today.

DOODLE FLOWERS BACKGROUND

These flowers are so pretty, and happy looking, I had to let them take center stage. Even though, technically, the center is the only place they’re not!

It looks like a lot of colouring, but it comes together very quickly.

CARD DETAILS

Start with a piece of white cardstock. Use a blending tool to add Broken China distress oxide ink around the edges, getting lighter towards the middle. Next, set up the cardstock in your stamp platform. Place the stamp on top, and then pick it up with the lid. Cover the stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and the stamp onto the blended cardstock.

Remove the cardstock from the stamp platform, and colour the flowers & leaves. I chose my alcohol ink markers for colouring, using both Copic and Spectrum Noir. After colouring, place the panel back into your stamp platform. Place the sentiment stamp from the Penny Black Sentiment Collection set in the middle. Cover the stamp with Nocturne ink, and stamp. Next, cover the sentiment with clear embossing powder, and then set it with a heat tool.

Layer a piece smaller piece of yellow cardstock onto a blue card base, with glue. Next, attach your card front, using foam tape. Finish off the card front by adding a few enamel dots and rhinestones from your stash.

By adding the blended background ink, you add dimension to the card front, without adding an extra physical layer.
