EMBOSSING FUN!

Hi Everyone!!

It’s Susan here with a couple of cards that feature embossing powder. Lots and lots of embossing powder!

This first card taught me a couple of things. First being when making stripes of embossing powder don’t do one stripe then the next one because it tends to mix the embossing powders a bit. Do ALL of one color then do ALL of the other color. This will give you a MUCH cleaner look. The second thing I learned was do a piece bigger than you want and then cut it down. I tried to do the size I wanted to start with but it was a little crooked so I had to do some cutting – it’s still a little crooked but it’s better.

To make the stripes I used adhesive tape – use whatever size you like – and leave a gap between each one –  I left a tiny space between each piece. When I finished the embossing I layered it onto a slim line card base with craft foam then stamped and colored the poppies and leaves with nocturne black ink and Prismacolor pencil crayons. I left the sentiment simple and embossed it with white onto a black card stock strip and added it to the card with some craft foam for dimension.

My second card is a little more on the fun side.

I die cut a LOT of heart shaped balloons from paper that covered with different colors of embossing powders. To do this I grabbed a bunch of pieces of card stock, covered them with embossing ink and then embossing powder and heat set them all. Next I die cut a LOT of balloons. I also die cut a lot of black balloon strings as well.

I covered the panel with clouds using the MFT Cloud stencil and some distress inks with a blending tool. Next I die cut a house – I was lucky to have one in my stash that made me think of the one in the movie Up – colored it with Prismacolor pencils and added it to the clouds with some craft foam.  I adhered all the balloons onto the card, added some balloon strings and then a sentiment.

Now it’s your turn.

Get out your embossing powders and have some fun and be sure to share them with us on the SNS Facebook Page. I can’t wait to see them.

Happy Stampin’
and thanks so much for visiting!

Stay safe everyone!!
