Tuesday with Tara {take 349} Hello There!

Happy Tuesday & Hello There, Sweet Friends!

Today’s card uses a fun combo of products to make a sweet and simple card… florals by Hampton Art Stamps (Hello Beautiful set), Hello There from Bold Text #1 dies by Tim Holtz and the little sweet friend is from Honey Bee Stamps Bitty Buzzwords.  Of course, I’m still playing around with my new Distress color, so today you see a simple color combo of Distress Oxide Inks- Saltwater Taffy and Twisted Citron.

Of course, there’s more fun details like the stitched border from MFT, 3D foam squares and some lime sequins by Studio Katia!  I wish I could tell you where the pink card base came from, but I’m pretty impressed how well it matched the Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink!

I’m pretty pleased with this card… really want to play around with other sentiments from the die set in combo with stamped greetings!  Hope you like it too 🙂

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 345} Blessed & Bling

Happy Tuesday!  My inspiration for today’s card is the word for Day 30 on our Facebook Challenge group– Bling! I’m trying to slip creatively into spring mode, so I played with a few shades of Distress Oxide Ink for a fun splattered background with ink blending.  I then die cut some assorted sizes of the Tim Holtz Stacked Hexagons and played around with a layout for them on a mini slim (3.5×6″) panel I had cut out.

For the BLING- I used a glittery die cut word ‘blessed’ that I had leftover from one of my cards from earlier this month.  I wanted to use some tiny paper flowers I had, some of which have glittery petals, so I added some gold to their centers to tie it all together.  I trimmed white pearly card stock to layer onto my card base and finished everything off with some gold toned bling!  I know at a glance this is not a seriously blingy card, but trust me- the elements are all there 🙂

I love the soft looks you get ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks, even using vibrant colors!  It’s perfect for spring and all those little speckles have me craving Robin’s Eggs Candy!  Yum…

Hope you like my simple, blingy card!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 343} not lucky, just blessed

Happy Tuesday!  I’ve always had a sort of soft spot for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day- I feel like it doesn’t get enough credit from those of us who aren’t exactly beer drinkers! LOL. Today’s card is inspired by the challenge theme about the prize at the end of the rainbow… GOLD.

If I had the inside scoop, I would have loved to have told you the theme was inspired because of the new Foundry Wax release and those delicious metallics, but I am just as anxious to play with those as the rest of the Tim Holtz fans out there!  They look amazing!    Instead  I worked with a combination of Rose Gold foil paper (mine was an adhesive backed foil by Sizzix, similar to this one by Ranger) & Yellow Gold Glitter card stock.

I’m once again using the Lucky Love 3D Embossing/Cutting Folder by Tim Holtz & Sizzix (It should be the last time you see it for a while though!  LOL). I paired it with the ‘blessed’ word by Honey Bee Stamps and LUCKY cut from a basic alpha (discontinued Tim Holtz alpha- but there’s so many great ones available now!)

I completed my sentiment using parts of a couple different sentiment stamps- I knew which words I wanted, just had to dig through my stamps until I found them to make it all work!  The stamped greenery behind the clover is from a Christmas stamp and gives just the right feel I was going for, paired with my words.

Finishing touches include a bit of distress ink around the edges, some gold shimmer spray (this is a discontinued Pearfect Pearl Mist in Sunflower Sparkle, but any gold spray would be lovely!) and a bit of gold bling.  Lastly, I added a bit of green twine to match the green mini slimline card base.

I hope it brings a smile to your face… and helps you to count your blessings this week!

Inky hugs,

Tara
