Tuesday with Tara {take 376} Snowy Bird

Happy Tuesday!  I’m sharing another festive BIRD card today (I promise I’ll have a different ‘theme’ next week- LOL), using the same “cardinal” MFT set as last week, with the addition of a snowflake background image by Woodware!  This snowy stamp is both cute and affordable (only 6 bucks!) and is a fabulous background for so many different images.  It’s a smaller image, but repeats easily- I’ve stamped it twice for the snowy panel on this card!

I chose to work with blues today- stamping the snowflakes in Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide Ink.  I colored the little bird & branch with my Copics in blues & browns as well, to tie everything together with the Kraft card base as well.  The finishing touch on the card was some little wooden snowflakes I found in my stash- they’re such a fun element I’m kinda sad to use them because I’m getting to the end of my supply!

It’s a simple, but I think sweet little card!  I hope you like it 🙂

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 365} cheers to you

Happy Tuesday!  Cheers to you!

Today’s card is inspired by the challenge word over at the SNS fb challenge group “stencil” so I used two very different stencils in two different ways… along with a generous heaping of Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide Ink!

My starting point was the tag, which features one of the Tim Holtz Doodle Art Stencils and some leftover crackle paste from another project.   This is a very detailed stencil with a ton of fun elements.  I sprinkled some Uncharted Mariner Distress Embossing Glaze over it and once dry, heated it.  I also just wiped excess paste off on the other corners of the tag to clean my palette knife which gives a bit of a resist to the Kraft tag base.  I inked over the entire tag with the Distress Oxide Ink and then added a bit of shading around the edges with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide.

A smaller Kraft tag with a sentiment stamped on it and a ribbon bow adds a bit more texture, as well as a touch of bling.

I built my card on a 5×7 Kraft card base, stenciling and stamping in the same ink.  I’ve used Woodware’s Wheel stencil and my sentiment is by MFT.  The finishing touches are these glittery silhouette birdscut from somesugar crystal card stock.  They pretty much steal the show, but I am here for it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Tuesday with Tara {take 362} Snowman Joy

I know the ’12 Days of Christmas’ promotion ended yesterday but I’ve got one more fun card to share, again featuring a Festive Fuzzies stamp by Woodware- this one is the Mini Snowman!

I colored this cutie with some watercolor paints and fussy cut around him, layering onto a Kraft die cut circle.  I was just playing when I started, so I dug around to find some Cardstock pieces and a sentiment to match!  I inked snowflakes from a Paper Rose stencil in Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide on the top layer to add a bit of interest.

The finishing touch on this simple little card is a line of pearly bling, of which I cut a few extra to use for the berries on my snowman’s hat!  (I originally colored them red but it just didn’t fit with the finished card- bling to the rescue once again!).

It’s a super simple card, but it showcases this adorable stamp and a cheery color combo!  You can really have some fun with colors using this image!  Even though the 12 Days sale is over, Boxing Day in July has begun the savings are sure to be epic!  Happy shopping!

Inky hugs,

Tara
