Friendship Card with Flora & Fauna

Hello, crafty friends and welcome back!! Laurie here to share a card with you that uses products from Flora and Fauna.  If you like whimsical, hand drawn images, this stamp company may just be for you!  They also have their very own unique dies as well.

I used only one stamp set to make this card. I love mixing and matching sets but it just so happens that everything I could possibly need/want was on this set.

I started by stamping a bunch of the images from the Floral Aviary stamp set onto a piece of white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. NOTE: it took two tries with this panel. The first time I used a pigment ink to stamp. Pigment ink is slower drying which resulted in a lot of smudges.

This really reminded me of wallpaper…I love it!!  I coloured the little bird as well as a few flowers and leaves and fussy cut them. I kind of wish there were co-ordinating dies!  I cut the Bird Cage Die (also Flora&Fauna) out of black cardstock.  I really wanted to add a bit of dimension but it’s a fairy delicate die, which would have been a slight nightmare to layer.  Instead, I slathered it with Versamark Ink and applied Clear Embossing Powder. I repeated that step twice to give added dimension and shine.

I added all the coloured pieces around the birdcage using foam adhesive. And of course, this card just HAD to have a white on black sentiment strip!!  I added a bit of sparkle using a Clear Wink of Stella pen.

I think this turned out really sweet. But just think of all the colouring options you have with this ONE stamp set!! It’s full of beautiful florals!!

Thank you for stopping by today!! I hope you found a little inspiration here today!!

Until next time…

Laurie

Aloha Friend, You’re Fabulous!

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! Today I’m sharing an encouragement card featuring Concord & 9th. I love this fun Aloha Friend stamp set and thought it would pair perfectly with gold.

I started by creating the card front and die cut an A2 sized stitched rectangle using green floral pattern paper. Next, I prepped white card stock with my anti static tool and heat set gold embossing powder using VersaMark Ink.

For the main images I stamped the flowers in purple and green ink. To finish off the card I added a sentient strip, 3D foam tape and coordinating sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stuck on You!!

Hello crafty peeps and welcome back to the SNS Blog!! It’s Laurie here today to share a card made using one of my favourite brands…Concord and 9th!!  I love their innovative designs. A lot of their stamp sets are large which make filling a card front very easy!  I love cacti, especially in illustration form, haha, so naturally I used the Stuck on You Stamp Set and its co-ordinating dies.

I started by stamping all the images I wanted to use onto some Tim Holtz Watercolour Cardstock.  I used Versafine Clair Ink in the colour Neptune and clear embossing powder because I wanted to do some quick and easy watercolour.

While my watercolour was drying, I chose another stamp from the same set and created a polka dot background on a piece of white cardstock that was cut to 4 X 5.25 inches.

It looks random and kind of splotchy but the large cactus image will cover the double stamped areas.  I die cut all the images, except for the little sign. There is no co-ordinating die for this. But it’s a square and very easy to fussy cut!  I adhered each piece together with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive then added foam adhesive to the back.

Because the background stamping was quite stark, I decided to cut a piece of vellum with an older die from MFT and put my cactus on top.  I hid the foam tape behind the image!

I just love how large that cactus is!! And I actually used the smaller of the two!!  I did add some shine with Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the flower and the heart on the flower pot.

For a little extra something, I added 3 drops of NuvoCrystal Drops in Ebony Black.

Thank you for stopping in today!!  I hope you enjoyed todays card!!

See you soon!

Laurie
