Sending Sunshine card with Honey Bee Stamps

Hello all, Kia here creating a card with Honey Bee stamps today to introduce you to “Sunshine Thoughts”. This is a thank you card, the sentiment is stamped on the on the inside of the card

First, the front of my card. I am using Tim Holtz Distress inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Tumbled Glass for this card.  To start I masked off some rays with removable tape  the left side of a white piece of card stock.  Next I blended over it with the Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed alternating between the two colours. I then die cut the sun, clouds and hearts from white card using  the Rainbow Dreams Honey bee die set.

To the sun add Squeezed Lemonade. The top of the clouds was done using Tumbled Glass, and the hearts were done using first the Squeezed Lemonade, then blended the Tumbled Glass, creating the green. Did you know that green hearts represent gratitude?

On one of the clouds I stamped the sentiment “Sending Sunshine” using distress ink in Mustard Seed. I then stamped the “and” int the same colour below where the cloud would be and attached the green hearts below that using Nuvo adhesive.

I arranged the sun and clouds then attached them using varying layers of foam squares to create depth. Next step is to the middle green heart I added a crystal gem. Then attached them to a coordinating yellow mat leaving an 1/8′ boarder and mounted it  on a pre-folded A2 white card.

On the inside of the card the sentiment is from the Bitty Buzzword stamps and dies from Honey Bee, echoing to the colours from the front.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you enjoy today’s card, Sunshine Thoughts featuring Honey Bee Stamps. Following are links for the products which can be found in the Scrap’n Stamp store.

Happy Birthday

Hello all, Kia here with you today for Day 19 of the Random Act of Cardness challenge. Today’s prompt is “Pink”.

For my card I am using Gina K Designs Elegant Asters along with Sizzix’ Embossing Folder Quilted.

I ran the Quilted embossing folder through my Gemini Jr. using Neenah cardstock. For the smooshing I put down the colours on my work surface, starting with Spun Sugar, then Kitsch Flamingo and ending with Picked Raspberry.

I continued smooshing until I was happy with the look. For the final addition of the Picked Raspberry I spritzed with Perfect Pearls and water instead of just the water. This added a lovely shine to the background.

I then dried the piece using my heat gun and attached it to my Gina K Design card base using foam tape.

Moving on I stamped the butterfly first with VersaFine Clair ink in Glamorous, then with Nocturne. I then stamped the flower using Versamark embossing ink and heat embossed with Pink embossing powder.

Using the 66 Dot card I watercoloured the flower and butterfly using the Quinacridone Pink and Quinacridone Fuschia. To the flower centre I added Hansa Yellow medium.

I then die cut the pieces and styled them using my stylist. I stamped the sentiment using the VersaFine Clair ink in Glamorous, then arranged and attached the flower and butterfly with foam squares.

To finish I added a scattering a crystals and sequins.

Hello Friend

This beautiful stamp is from Colorado Stamp Company and is called Missing You Peony. It is part of their Big and Bold Line of stamps, and I love it.

To start this card I knew I was going to down size the stamp. In doing this I needed to stamp and fussy cut the stamp on photocopy paper, as I would be doing some masking.

I am using Arches 140lb Cold Press watercolour paper for this card. I wanted my card panel to be 4.5 x 4.5 inches and not the 6 x 6 inches it is intended to be. In order to accomplish this I would be using petals from the flower as leaves, keeping them trimmed so one would not really notice that they were not “proper leaves”.

I masked off the petals I wanted as leaves and stamped the other petals using Ranger Ink in Vibrant Fuchsia. I then masked off the petals and stamped the leaves using Ranger Ink in Olive. This ensures that the details from the stamp remain and do not wash away when I watercolour.

To watercolour I am using Kuretake Clean Color Brushes in 2 colours only, being the Dark Pink and Olive. To lighten where needed I am watering down the colour.

To mat my piece I added cardstock in the deep pink and olive green colours, then attached it all to a pale green card base. I did this as some cards just do not suit a white base, and this is one of them.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of the Arches watercolour paper using VersaFine Clair Ink in Glorious and attached it to the base using foam squares. I then added a few Nuvo Glitter drops around the card to finish.

Thank you for visiting today. I have attached Affiliate Links to the products I used for this card, at no extra cost to you.
