Miss You

Hello all, Kia here with you today to share this Tone on Tone card.

As you can see, Blue is my colour choice. There is a total of 5 tones of blue on this card. I used Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch. My base panel cardstock is a light blue, and the card base is a Royal Blue.

I used my Stay-tion to do my sponging, along with my Life Changing Brushes. I applied the colours where I thought they would look good, then before removing the stencil I moved two of the magnets and had a look to make sure it was as I wanted. That is the great thing about using my Stay-tion for stencils, no wasted tape.

Once the sponging was complete, I then applied Stickles Glitter Gel to the left side of the card panel on an angle. I love this gel so much, and bonus, it does not go hard once the lid is opened.

While waiting for the Stickles to dry I die cut the “miss you” sentiment twice and glued them together. With the panel dry I glued the sentiment in place.

You can see the look with the Stickles. They actually add extra blue colours. Love it!

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card, and I hope you enjoy it as well. Thanks so much for dropping by today. Following are Affiliate Links for the products that I have used for this card, at no extra cost to you.

Dancing Leaves

Hello to all. Kia here with you today to continue on with our Random Act of Cardness Challenges. Today is day 27, which is for Masking. I would like to see you do Die Cut Masking to change it up a bit.

You can find a video on Die Cut Masking here.

To make my sample cards I used Penny Black’s Dancing Leaves Die to do my masking. I did both positive and negative die cut masking using this leaf.

For my masking I am using Gina K Designs Magic Masking paper.

First up is Hello Friend. I first die cut the top panel portion using Penny Black’s Stitched Circles die. I then lined the panel up with my card base for placement of my mask, removed the die cut panel and attached the die cut mask to my card base.

Using Distress Oxide inks in Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries and starting with Tattered Rose I began applying the ink to my card base using my Life Changing Brushes. When blending the colours, after applying the first two colours, I went back over the blending area with the first colour. The same after applying ink 3, I blended with ink colour 2.

Once I was happy with the blending I removed the leaves making tape to reveal the beautiful white leaves. Using foam squares on the back of my top panel, I attached it to my card base. To finish I stamped the sentiment using Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil and added a few drops of Rosewater Jewel Drops.

This is Dear Friend, and Clean and Simple design using the same die cuts and distress oxide colours as my first card.

For this card I am using the negative left when I die cut the leaves from a 4.25 x 4.25 square of masking paper. I then removed the backing and attached the mask to my card base. I used the same colours as above, but this time used my thin tiny brush to add the colours, starting with the lightest and moving to the darkest. Once I was done with the distress oxide colours I added some of the Potting Soil with a tiny tip Q-Tip to the branch portions of the leaves.

To finish up I stamped my sentiment from Penny Black’s Dear Friend Stamp set using VersaFine Clair Ink in Pinecone, then added a few gems.

I hope you have enjoyed today’s cards and wish to thank you for visiting us. I look forward to seeing your creations on our Facebook Challenge Page.

Shaving Cream Plus Inks

Hello crafty friends, Kia here with you today to share Day 17 of Scrap’n Stamps 30 Days of Challenges which is to use Shaving Cream. I have a video for you to watch here.

In the video Lydia describes what she does once the shaving cream is applied to the card. I do not do this, I leave the piece to dry as I like a crisp look, which takes awhile. I left these for 90 minutes to dry, and they were still damp. So be sure to use freezer paper to wrap the panel when die cut to protect your plates, and when applying glue to the back place the panel on a paper towel.

For the left card I used reinkers and alcohol inks for the middle and right cards.

As I wanted the backgrounds to be the star, I kept the cards clean and simple.

I used my Penny Black Elegant Stitched die for the card above and have added Nuvo Glitter Drops to the flower centres as well as a few falling from the sentiment.

Again, I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitched die on this card and the Hello die is cut 3 times, glued together, then I painted it with Nuvo Glitter Gloss.

For this card, on my card base I stencilled using my XO Mask stencil along with Opaque Matte Embossing Paste. I fussy cut the Heart and glued to the card base on the left side then used foam squares on the right side. The sentiment is stamped and glued to the card, and the you is glued on the left with a foam square supporting it on the right.

I have more of the backgrounds I made using this technique which can be found here.

I hope you will play along today, and upload your creations to our Challenge Page.
