Add a Little Splatter!

Happy Friday! I have a little inspiration for you for today’s Random Acts of Cardness prompt, SPLATTER:

Making cards to show support for Ukraine is still on my mind, so I knew I wanted to make something with blue and yellow. I pulled out this pretty Filled In Florals set from Concord & 9th, stamping the large flower in stone blue ink from Catherine Pooler and the smaller one with juniper mist. Both flower centres are stamped in tiara, and the leaves in garden party. Before I did anything else, I did some splattering! I think splatter is a great way to add extra interest to a CAS card design. I used tiara and stone blue for my splatters, tapping a little of each ink out on some acetate then using a small brush and some water to make it splatter-thin-enough. Once the splatters had dried, I stamped my two part sentiment and put the card together.

What about you, are you ready to add some splatter to your next project? If you do, link up to the Facebook challenge page, and don’t forget to add the hashtag #snschallenge to your socials. And if you feel a shop coming on, remember you can use 10Lindsey to get 10% off your order!

Get Well Soon!

I love the humour in the stamps from Art Impressions, and this Get Well set is a great example! The funny images and punny sayings would perk up anyone who wasn’t feeling well. So this makes a great get well soon card, for anyone. Get well also happens to be the word prompt for today’s Scrap ‘N Stamp daily challenge!

I SEE YOU (OR I.C.U.)

No one is comfortable in these silly ‘robes’ they give you at the hospital or doctor’s office! It’s hard to remain dignified when your back end is exposed to the world!

Get Well Soon

Hopefully the recipient of this card won’t have any stitches they might disrupt, when laughing at this card! The play on words just tickle my funny bone.

CARD DETAILS

I wanted to use both sentiments, so I decided to use these two images. Having accompanied my husband on many doctor/specialist visits, I feel like I’ve lived this scene.  The images and sentiments are stamped in Nocturne ink onto white cardstock. Then choose your favourite colouring tools; I chose some Copic and Spectrum Noir markers. After colouring, layer the images and sentiments onto dark blue panels. Cover a dark blue card base with some patterned paper, and then layer on the images and sentiments.

JOIN THE CHALLENGE

You can find the Scrap ‘N Stamp challenge page HERE, on Facebook. It’s free (and fun) to join! Each month you’ll see a list of word prompts; one for each day of the month. At the end of the month, one lucky participant is randomly chosen to WIN a $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE to Scrap ‘N Stamp!

On another note, this is my final post as a member of the Scrap ‘N Stamp Design Team.  I have had a wonderful 3 years as a member of the Team; it’s such a great group of people, and I hope to keep in touch with them. Many thanks to Raya, the owner, for her support and to the rest of the team for their friendship!  I will still be creating, but with more focus on my resin art, and watercolour painting.

Wishing You Happiness

Hi Everyone!

It’s Susan and today I am sharing a super quick one layer Clean and Simple (CAS) card to play along with the Random Acts of Cardness Challenge. The prompt is CAS and this card doesn’t get any more CAS or easier.

On the front of a card I stamped the girl image from Sip Happens from Picket Fence and below it I stamped the sentiment from Penny Blacks Sentiment Collection. I stamped them both with Catherine Pooler Designs Midnight ink.

I used a fine tip black marker to draw the line at the bottom of the image – it looked unfinished without it.

I used the Crimson (847) Tombow marker to color in the shirt, wine, lips and finger nails.

And that’s it.

This card is done.

Told you it was easy.

Now it’s your turn.

Make a project with the CAS theme and share it with us at the Scrap’n Stamp Facebook Challenge page.

You could win a $25 Gift Certificate to the store so why not come join in the fun.

Happy Stampin’
and thanks so much for visiting!
Stay safe everyone!!
