Trick or Treat

Hello all! Kia here with you today. I would first like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.

I decided to do a Halloween card to share with you today. I have used stamps and dies from two different companies, one being Concord & 9th, the other My Favorite Things. It was just too hard to resist putting these together, it is like they were made for one another. As I had a lot that I wanted to fit on my card, I decided to make a tall 3.75 x 8.5 card.

I started first with the night sky by first masking off where I wanted the moon to be. I then sponged on my inks, working with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and starting with Shaded Lilac, moving on to Blueprint Sketch and finishing around the edges with Wilted Violet. I then removed the moon mask, and applied the sky mask to protect the sky while I did the moon. Again using Distress Oxide Inks, I started with Antique Linen and finished with Wild Honey. Once finished, I removed the masks and ran the hose from my Mini Mister along some areas on the moon, then sprinkled the entire area with water droplets.

I stamped all the images from both sets using Memento Ink in Jet Black, and die cut using my Gemini, then coloured with Chameleon Markers. For the grass areas I sponged on distress oxide in Peeled Paint. I attached a row of the trees and the houses using foam squares and glue, and used foam squares for the critters. I added Wink of Stella to the cape on the fox, and really wished I had room for the extra pumpkin and candies, but I will use them inside instead.

I hope you have enjoyed this Halloween card. I have listed the products below, which can all be found in the Scrap’n Stamp Store.

Thanks so much for visiting Scrap’n Stamp today.

A Lawn Fawn Halloween

A Lawn Fawn Hallowe’en

Hallowe’en is right around the corner.  Lawn Fawn’s most recent   release  embraces the upcoming  festive occasion  with   die sets  called “Add-Ons”.

Add-On’s are designed by adding new pieces  or themes to encourage different  or novel uses of existing dies.

This project uses Lawn Fawn Tiny Gift Box with  the newly released Tiny Gift Box Bat Add-On and Tiny Gift Box Deer Add-On. Although only  a bow tie die was used from the latter Lawn Fawn Add-On Set. Both were used with the existing Tiny Gift Box Die Set.

Bazzill Premium Card Stock in two grey   shades,  black ,white,  pink,  and a  purple texturized  sheet  were  used in this project . Tonic  Glitter card  in red, purple , and black and  scrap of orange  from my stash added to the required colours and textures to complete six tiny bat boxes.

Lawn Fawn Tiny Gift Box scores as well as cuts. The score marks were burnished well.   Be Creative Tape was applied to the back side of four flaps. The flaps are located on either side of the long centre piece ( box body).

The flaps are adhered to  the inside of the notched rectangle sandwiched between   the two forward flaps. The sides of the rectangle sandwiched between  the final two flaps are brought forward , adhering  the flaps to  the inside of each side of the rectangle.  The box is now assembled.

Working on the bat from the back to front applying the eye, mouth and teeth coverings on to the back. The black piece first and then the white to the bottom of the black piece paying attention to the notches.. Flip the bat over and add, the checks, tuxedo and wings as desired. The finished bat is now attached to the box front with Be Creative Tape. Ranger Glossy Accents was added to the eyes of three Bats.

This project is now complete. Until next time – xo – Karen

Witching You

Hello all! Kia here with you today to share this Halloween card I did using the delightfully sweet stamp set from My Favorite Things called Frightfully Sweet.

These little critters make me laugh with their costumes and masks. I coloured the animals using Chameleon Markers. On the fox I treated the upper face fur as a mask, colouring it in purple marker and covering with Wink of Stella for some glitter. I added white gel pen for highlighting on the hats, cape and pumpkins.

For the background I sponged using distress oxide in ripe persimmon and wilted violet, then splattered with water and die cut the panel using My Favorite Things die called Inside and Out Diagonal Stitched Die set. I then did the smaller panel using the same die, however I also cut the frame out, sponging the frame in the wilted violet and the inside panel using carved pumpkin. I also splattered water droplets on the inside panel. I then taped the two pieces together, and added foam tape to attach it to the card. I arraged the critters on foam squares like a group of kids coming to the door to fetch candy, then stamped the sentiment using Memento black ink and finished with a few Nuvo Jewel Drops in Orange Marmalade.

I hope you enjoy this card and thank you for visiting today.
