Hi Everyone! Susan here with a card for todays Random Acts of Cardness challenge. I chose foliage as the prompt and I had an idea in mind when I chose the prompt but when it came time to make the card I went a different way.
The theme for this months hop was Christmas in July (you can check it out here) and I’ve been seeing Christmas cards all over the internet so I went with a Christmas card. I chose one of my all-time favorite Christmas stamps – Berry Kissed from Penny Black. I used my MISTI (stamp positioning tool), some Heavystock White card stock from Tim Holtz and a mixture of Distress and Distress Oxide inks. I added the stamp and the paper into my MISTI and used sponge daubers to add ink, then gave it a tiny spritz of water. I stamped the image then dried it with my heat tool, then repeated the process a few times.
To add detail to the image I pressed the ink pads to my glass media mat, gave them a spritz of water then using a fine tipped paint brush I added some detail to the image and a wash of color for the background. I dried it with my heat tool again then die cut it with the large stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment is from Concord and 9th’s Festive Friends Stamp Set. I embossed it in white on black card stock and added it to the card with some craft foam.
