Cool Yule Masculine Card

I don’t know about you, but I always seem to struggle with making masculine cards.

So with a few males on my christmas list this year, I played around with the Tim Holtz COOL YULE dies. Here’s one of the masculine Christmas themed cards I came up with. :o)

I started with some Designer Christmas paper in plaid and then cut out a frame using the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frames from Lawn Fawn in a coordinating cardstock.  I adhered the frame to my designer paper using Nuvo Deluxe Glue. I then adhered the panel to a Kraft Cardstock base.

I then cut out a circle using Spellbinder’s Pierced Circles from some more Designer paper and inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide. Now for the fun part, I cut out all the snowman pieces from the Cool Yule Die set in different cardstocks and adhered him together….how COOL is he? hehehehe This is such a fun set as you can mix and match a lot of the pieces….so much variablitily in this set!I adhered him to the circle with Foam Tape and finished with a sentiment from Tim Holtz Snowman Blueprint set. Which has a label I stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink and the sentiment in StazOn Blazing Red Ink.

I kept it pretty simple for mailing and like I said before, I struggle with Masculine cards and WHEN TO STOP. lol. But here’s the inside using the same design as the front and an old sentiment from Cornish Heritage Farms.

I hope y’all have a Happy Holidays and I’ll see you back here after Christmas with another fun lil’ make.

Happy Craftin’!

Shaking it Up with Hot Cocoa!

Happy Friday crafty friends, today I’m here with a Christmas card using the THANKS A LATTE stamp set.

I just adore this stamp set from Lawn Fawn, it’s so versatile and today I wanted to show you a shaker card and non-traditional Christmas colors using this cute little stamp set. Also, with today being the start of the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, this set is perfect with all the different options you get for fall and winter!

Nothing says winter to me like hot cocoa and candy canes, so here’s my card for you today.

I started by creating a panel from Bristol Smooth paper and blending Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks.  I then splattered some White Gesso which  I watered down and splattered onto the panel. Once the panel was dry, I die cut the panel using the second largest MFT Rounded Banner Die.

I then stamped the Mug, scarf and cocoa element onto Design Paper from my stash and fussy cut them out. For the Candy Cane, I stamped the image onto Recollectons Glitter Silver cardstock and colored the stripes with a Red Sharpie and fussy cut it out as well. I  paper pieced and adhered all the images onto the background panel with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. I created the shaker portion by using two of the Rounded Banner Stax dies and die cutting it 6 times from cardstock and gluing them onto top of eachother, instead of using foam tape. I find by layering the diecuts out of cardstock, it creates a sturdier Shaker element. I adhered an acetate panel onto the top layer and glued one more diecut layer to hide the glue on the acetate. Once it was dry, I added Diamond Dust and light blue seed beads to create the shaker elements inside, as I thought it looked like snow. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto white cardstock, layered it onto the teal cardstock and slanted the one end with scissors. A snowflake and gem from my stash finished off the front of my card.

I used an Art Impressions sentiment  for the inside of the card that depicted warm wishes to tie in the cocoa and design elements from the front of my card.

I sure hope you enjoyed my warm and cozy shaker card today.

Happy Crafting!

~hugs~

You’re Stinkin’ Cute!

I just adore the mini Stamp sets from Lawn Fawn, especially this little cutie, Stinkin Cute set and Coordinating Die.

These little sets are so versatile and great additions to any stamp collection at the lower price points. :o)

Here’s my lil’ card that I made usin the Stinkin Cute stamp and Die sets along with some pencil crayons and gamsol.

I stamped the image with Jet Black Archival Ink onto Bristol Smooth paper, and colored the image with Derwent Pencil Crayons, but the Chamelon Pencil Crayons, work just as great. I blended the 2-3 color shades with Gamsol and blending stump.

I then used the Coordinating die to cut out the image and flower. For my card base, I used Charcoal Recollections Cardstock and some Design Paper in Grey and Mint Green from CraftSmith. I used two Small Circle Dies and offset them off my card front and stamped the sentiment onto mint Cardstock and die cut with MFT- Fishtail Flag Frame dies and just cut the one end off to create banners.

I finished off the inside off my card with a few more offset circles and a sentiment from Recollections.

There we have it, a CAS card that has a lot of CUTE FACTOR!! lol!

Happy Craftin’!
