Tuesday with Tara {take 234} 5 faves from 2019

Happy first Tuesday of 2020! I wanted to start the new year of by sharing a few of my favorite cards that I created in 2019. It’s hard to narrow it down, so I just went with ones that still make me smile!

2019 was a hard year for me creatively, as I dealt with health issues that robbed me of energy and creativity (among other things)! My cards were, and continue to be, a lot more simple than they have been in the past… and that’s okay! I hope they still bring smiles to those of you who read my blog posts and to the recipients of the cards (when I ever get around to mailing them).

You can read the posts and see details on each of these cards linked below:

Here’s to a new year full of creativity and inky fingers!

Inky hugs,

Tara

Floral Cup

Hello all, Kia here with you today to share this card.

I am giving away my age here, but when I was 16 it was time to pick out my China Pattern that would become my birthday and Christmas gifts for years to come. Then it was the Crystal and then the Sterling Silver. Yes, I still use it all!

That is what I thought about when I saw this die by Picket Fence Studios, so that is where I went.

Using Gina K. Designs white card stock I prepped the card with my Perfect Crafting Pouch as I would be using both distress inks and embossing powders.

I then inked my stamp with Distress Ink in Antique Linen, and proceeded to colour using Copic Markers, which I did while leaving my stamp in my stamping tool.

Once my colouring was done I stamped the image using embossing ink and heat embossed using Gilded Gold fine embossing powder. I then masked off the cup area leaving the handle exposed and applied embossing ink along with the gold embossing powder and heat embossed.

On a separate piece of white cardstock I again prepped the piece with my Perfect Crafting Pouch. I then brushed on and blended Distress Oxide ink in Squeezed Lemonade, then splattered the area with Midas Touch Shimmering Pen.

I attached the piece to my yellow card base.

To complete my card I applied foam squares to the back of the coffee cup and attached it to the my card. I then stamped the sentiment using Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade several times to darken the colour.

I hope you have enjoyed today’s card. Following I have provided Affiliate Links to the Store for the products that I have used for this card.

Picket Fence Studios Foiled Christmas Cards

Hi crafty friends and welcome back. Sandi MacIver here and I have a super fun post for you today. I was playing with the Gemini Foil Press Machine and I made two Picket Fence Studios Foiled Christmas Cards to share with you in today’s Stamping Video.

Picket Fence Studios Foiled Christmas Cards

I used the Picket Fence Studios Two Part Foiling & Cutting Dies for both cards. The Falalalaaaa sentiment, the Merry Christmas sentiment and the Christmas Leaf Bulb. What I love about these sets is there are two dies. One to foil with, and a second outline die to die cut the image out allowing you the freedom to place it wherever you wish on your card.

With the Christmas Leaf Bulb I show you how to use the positive and the negative of the foil, to create two Christmas balls from one piece of foil.

For the pink card, I use Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick to sponge onto the white card stock before I do the foiling. That’s what creates the pretty two tone background effect.

The Christmas Ball on the blue card is the one created with the negative foil piece left over from the first pass, that’s why most of the ball is gold and just a tiny bit of the blue card stock shows through. Because of that, I chose to sponge the card front for this one to add a little depth of color to the background.

Here’s the video for the Picket Fence Studios Foiled Christmas Cards walking you through the steps to sponge, foil and put the cards together.

Thanks so much for stopping in today and I hope you enjoyed the projects. I have listed the products I used below with links to the Scrap ‘N Stamp Store for you.

Until next time, Happy Stamping
