Sundae Funday

Hi Everyone!! It’s Susan and I’m here with a card for today’s Random Act of Cardness Challenge. Can you guess what the prompt is by my card? It’s ICE CREAM!! Now that the weather is starting to warm up where I live I’m thinking I’m going to be craving ice cream. I rarely eat it but sometimes a soft serve vanilla ice cream cone from DQ is a must have.

I used the Sundae Funday Stamp Set from Colorado Craft Company. It’s a small set but super cute and fun to play with and it has a coordinating die too. I stamped it on a Hampton Arts White tag and two more times on some white card stock. I just wanted the sundae portion so I cut that out and colored everything in with a mixture of copics and Altenew markers. I colored the ice cream to be chocolate, strawberry and caramel using Altenew markers.  I used Copic N0 and N2 on the bunny and an Altenew blue on the sundae glasses.

I’ve had the black & white piece of paper with the embossed happy adhered to it on my desk for weeks now and suddenly today I decided it would be great for this card. Because I kept the coloring very simple on this card I decided to add a fun and festive background. I used a piece from a Catherine Pooler Designs pack I had in my stash.

I layered everything onto a white card base then added some red twine, a few sequins and some sparkle to the ice cream with a glitter pen to finish this card.

Thanks so much for spending some of your day with me.

Take care,

Susan

Creating Texture

Hi Everyone! It’s Susan and I’m sharing a post for the Random Acts of Cardness prompt of Texture. I have a LOT of pics so I made them smaller to fit more in – hope they’re not too small to see.

I was playing with the Simon Hurley Stampin Foam. This was my first time and I am HOOKED!! If you haven’t tried these I highly recommend them. All you do is heat the foam for a couple of minutes with your heat tool then press in to whatever you have that is textured. Next you ink up the foam like you would a stamp then stamp with it. I wiped it clean with a wet wipe then heated it up again with my heat tool to remove the impression and moved on to the next thing with texture.

Click HERE to watch a quick video on how it works.

Here’s a pic of the foam with the impression of the wall and inked up then me stamping it.

Below are all the panels I made using the foam. The top three are made from the impression I got from the wall in my craft room

The middle row: left is from my sweater, middle is a wicker basket and right is my Tombow markers

The bottom row is all the edge of the baskets that I store my stamps in.

And these are the cards I made from the panels. I do have a couple still to play with but I did make a lot.

All the products I used are listed below.

Other ways I added texture was to to use stencils, tear edges of card stock and also distress the edges of some of the card stock.

Thanks so much for spending some of your day with me.

Time To Recycle

Hi Everyone! It’s Susan and I’m here with a card for today’s Random Act of Cardness Challenge. I decided that since today is Earth Day I would make the prompt RECYCLE.

I love to take pieces of cardboard boxes and use them on cards are as covers for notebooks and mini scrapbook albums.

I cut a piece of Moonlit Fog with the largest die in the Lawn Fawn Small Rectangle Die Set and adhered it to a white card base. After removing the top layer from the piece of cardboard I sponged the edges with Icing on the Cake ink from Catherine Pooler Designs then adhered it to the card.

I stamped the Zen Butterfly from Lavinia with Nocturne ink onto some brown paper that was used for packing in an online order I received. I fussy cut the image and adhered it to the card using craft foam under the wings to pop them up but the body and antennas are adhered directly to the card.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Beautiful Blessings, embossed with WOW Super Fine White Embossing Powder on Gina K Moonlit Fog card stock that I sponged the edges with Icing on the Cake ink and adhered directly to the card.

I finished the card with some clear gems in my stash.

Thanks so much for spending some of your day with me.
Take care
Susan
