Floral Aviary Tag

How TWEET is this Floral Aviary Set from Flora and Fauna???

I just love the whimsical little images in this set and loved coloring them even more!

I created my tag using a Luggage Tag die from my stash but any  tag die will do like the Concord and 9th Sprinkles tag. I die cut it from Bristol Smooth cardstock and used fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxides with a blending tool to create my background.

I colored the image with Copics and Spectrum Noir markers and then fussy cut them out. I created the cage using  a Spellbinders Bird Cage Die, but Penny Black has some adorable ones here too. I die cut the bird cage from white cardstock three times and adhered them together, and then embossed the top layer with Clear Embossing poweder twice…doesn’t it look like a real shiny metal bird cage? lol

I adhered the flowers and birds with the cage onto my tag using glue and foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment using Versafine Black Onyx Ink. Some white gel pen highlights finished off my little tag.

Thank you for stopping by today and happy Craftin’!

~hugs~

Trick or Treat

Hello all! Kia here with you today. I would first like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.

I decided to do a Halloween card to share with you today. I have used stamps and dies from two different companies, one being Concord & 9th, the other My Favorite Things. It was just too hard to resist putting these together, it is like they were made for one another. As I had a lot that I wanted to fit on my card, I decided to make a tall 3.75 x 8.5 card.

I started first with the night sky by first masking off where I wanted the moon to be. I then sponged on my inks, working with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and starting with Shaded Lilac, moving on to Blueprint Sketch and finishing around the edges with Wilted Violet. I then removed the moon mask, and applied the sky mask to protect the sky while I did the moon. Again using Distress Oxide Inks, I started with Antique Linen and finished with Wild Honey. Once finished, I removed the masks and ran the hose from my Mini Mister along some areas on the moon, then sprinkled the entire area with water droplets.

I stamped all the images from both sets using Memento Ink in Jet Black, and die cut using my Gemini, then coloured with Chameleon Markers. For the grass areas I sponged on distress oxide in Peeled Paint. I attached a row of the trees and the houses using foam squares and glue, and used foam squares for the critters. I added Wink of Stella to the cape on the fox, and really wished I had room for the extra pumpkin and candies, but I will use them inside instead.

I hope you have enjoyed this Halloween card. I have listed the products below, which can all be found in the Scrap’n Stamp Store.

Thanks so much for visiting Scrap’n Stamp today.

You HOG my Heart!

Good morning, Amy here with a little HOG and some watercoloring!

I mean how sweet is this HOG HEAVEN set by MFT??? I do love me some piggies! ;o)

I started by stamping the Little Heart Piggie/Hog with Tattered Rose Distress Ink onto Canson Watercolor paper. I then used the same color, in Tattered Rose, to watercolor the Piggie. I also used Frayed Burlap for his inner ear, nose and eyes and Tombow Hot Pink 743 for the heart. I then fussy cut him out.

I then created my base card with Cardstock from Bazzil and used  Sizzix Dotted Rectangles, but any decorative rectangle die will do, like Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Bar Rectangles. I then used a brick design paper from my stash to create my little background for the Piggie. I splattered some Hickory Smoke Distress Stain to create some texture to the white. Added some washi tape and sequins from my stash and to finish off the card, I mounted the piggie with 3D foam tape and added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the heart. Love the dimension this glaze adds. ;o)

And I like to finish the inside of my cards with a similar design as the front:

And there we have it a sweet and simple card with some watercoloring and minimal supplies.

~Happy Craftin’!~

Amy
