Concord & 9th

JOY, LOVE and PIECE

Hi Everyone! It’s Susan and I’m sharing a card using today’s Random Act of Cardness prompt of Sentiments. I chose the Concord & 9th Full of Joy Stamp Set (which is on sale at the time of this post at the Scrap’n Stamp Shop). I chose three Catherine Pooler Designs ink colors and did some ink blending on a panel then added some water splatters. When that dried I die cut the panel using the second largest die from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle 4 Bar die set.

Next I stamped the large word sentiments in the coordinating ink color for each blended area on the panel. I used my MISTI for this because I wanted to do them all at the same time. As soon as I stamped them I quickly added clear embossing powder and heat set it.

I stamped the smaller sentiments with WOW embossing ink and heat set them with white embossing powder.

I added the panel to a white card base with some craft foam.

This was an easy card to make and would look good in any of your favorite color combinations.

Happy Stampin’
and thanks so much for visiting!
Stay safe everyone!!
Susan

A CARD WITH A SECRET

Hi Everyone!!

It’s Susan here with the Random Act of Cardness prompt for today and that prompt is TRICK.

I have to admit this one threw me for a loop. I struggled for a while to come up with something. I decided to do some research on YouTube and see what I could find. I did find quite a few tutorials on how to make a card with a secret message. I watched a few of them and I was stumped at how they made it. I found someone who had a tutorial written out step by step with pictures and I still didn’t get it.

So I decided to make one and see if that would make it clear to me.

And it did!

I also decided to record the process and take you along with me to figure it out.

Click HERE to watch the whole process on YouTube.

Here’s a peak at the finished card.

And here’s a few pics of the inside.

I tried typing out the instructions but I struggled with making it clear. I highly recommend watching the video. (link ablove)

I hope you’re inspired to give this a try – or to find another way for the prompt ‘TRICK’ to inspire you and if you are please share your cards with us over on the Scrap’n Stamp Facebook Challenge Page.

Happy Stampin’
and thanks so much for visiting!
Stay safe everyone!!

Have a FaBOOlous Day

Wow, it’s the last week of October already! That means it’s time to finish off any Halloween prep you might need to do, you know, like buying your favourite Halloween treats. 😉  And if you like to send Halloween cards, it’s time to get them in the mail! I’m here with possibly the least spooky card you can imagine, for today’s Random Acts of Cardness prompt, BOO.

These little ghosties from Lawn Fawn’s Booyah stamps and dies are so sweet! I stamped a few, mixing up the shapes and faces, then picked two that seemed to get along well together for the “O”s in my BOO. I added a bow tie to one, and a sparkly flower to the other. And let me tell you about my background! I was using distress oxides for a different card background, and had been brushing the excess off on the back of a Scrap ‘n Stamp postcard from an order. As I was cleaning up, I realized I had the start of a spooky sky! I used mermaid lagoon, faded jeans and wilted violet for the background. My large “B” is from Concord & 9th’s Tall Type Alphabet. The secondary banner sentiment is from another fun Lawn Fawn set, Tiny Halloween. I tried different ways of mounting my panel onto the card base – directly onto a white card base, a black mat on a white base, but decided I liked this one, directly onto a black card base, best.

If I knew anyone getting married on Halloween, wouldn’t this be a fun wedding card? 😀  Thanks for checking in today – hope your week’s off to a faBOOlous start!
